Awakening to a surreal reality, the protagonist finds themselves in a desolate wasteland at the water's edge. Surrounding them are countless lost souls, adrift and purposeless. A vessel emerges on the horizon, guided by a disheveled figure at its helm—Charon, the Ferrier of souls.

Alerted to morphing foreign environs
Atop of a broken precipice looking
Aghast upon a sea of desolation

Observing endless droves
Of imprisoned aimless souls
Leads to the river Styx waters entangle
The foredoomed lured to inveigle

An ancient mariner scullers near
Their vessel propelled by inflamed oar

Charon: warden of the wretched
Charon: a sordid disheveled specter

Son of Erebus and Nyx
Breaching the shoreline
For the approaching voyagers

A mean-spirited, foreboding entity
Torn rags adorned their obscene torso

Ushering the anathematized
Between the nether worlds divide
Of the living and forgotten souls

An excursion athwart this realm
A debt of torment and agony
Consuming each fare to be replete of energy

In the distance, other farriers of souls
Are venturing off in opposing directions
Derailed from crossing the planes divide
Trapped, impaled within the treacherous voids
Between the nether worlds to remain forevermore

As I take a step towards
Charon: a shepherd of specters
Charon: with igneous glaring eyes

The cursed incapable of requitance
Left to wander with unwavered persistence
A hundred years but a day
The impure with no coin to pay
